1Try Crisis RecoveryDownload the BIOS crisis file (.fd or .bin) from Toshiba support. Format USB as FAT32. Copy file. Hold Fn+Esc, plug in USB, plug in charger. Press power. Wait 10 minutes.⚠ Do not power off during recovery.
2Power drainDisconnect charger + battery. Hold power 60 seconds. Reconnect. Try. Resets 30% of failed-BIOS issues.
3CMOS clearOpen back cover. Locate the CMOS coin cell (CR2032). Disconnect for 30 minutes. Reconnect. Try.
4Identify BIOS chipOn the ISC11 motherboard, the BIOS is a Winbond W25Q64FV located near the EC chip. Marked U36.
5Connect SPI programmerAttach SOIC8 clip to the BIOS chip. Connect CH341A. Red wire = pin 1 (top-left of chip).⚠ Wrong pin alignment will fry the chip.
6Backup current BIOSUse flashrom to read the chip 3 times. Verify all 3 reads are identical. Save as backup.bin.
7Flash clean BIOSGet a verified-clean BIOS dump for your exact C55 model (look on badcaps.net forums or Vinafix). Write with flashrom.⚠ Wrong BIOS = permanent brick.
8Reassemble + testDisconnect SPI programmer. Reconnect battery. Power on. Should boot into Windows. Update to latest BIOS via Toshiba utility.
